As I mentioned in this month’s Status Report I’m back to streaming! And I’ve relaunched my streaming efforts with a deep dive into the production of The Mechanics of Mysticism. Now, I will be writing up a proper text account of how it was made, from beginning to end, but there are certain things that are easier to cover in video and it’s What The People Want (according to my Mastodon poll), so here it is:
In this, we look at the Ableton file for the song. I take you thru the synths I used, the inspiration for the track, touch on mixing and mastering, etc. It’s pretty thorough! It’s also an hour long but no one will fault you if you skip around. Next Wednesday I’ll be tackling the next song (“A Journey with the Plant Spirits”) and, if I have time, digging into some of the preparation I did before I started recording. Enjoy!
