Another month is past! Let’s get caught up on what’s been happening, shall we?
Right here on the website, I published my review of the excellent Arturia MicroFreak. It’s my favorite synthesizer and I hope the review will help you understand why, and maybe determine if MicroFreak is right for you. I am planning a follow up review of its big brother, the MiniFreak (well, technically the MiniFreak V, since I have the software version of that one).
Over at my YouTube channel I finished my streaming series breaking down the making of The Mechanics of Mysticism. I might be doing a hangout session there tonight, making a few weird sounds and then selecting a bunch of stuff to release as a free preset pack…
I am very close to finishing a new track! Once I have two done, I will launch a new album-in-progress, the same way I released Metaphysical Shitposting — two tracks to start, with additional tracks added as they are finished. Similarly, the price will start at $3 for the early adopters, going higher as tracks are added until it’s $7 like everything else. Buy early and save! (Or just wait until I release free codes eventually and save even more.)
Progress on my remaining projects has been slow, because I got a new paid writing gig (outside of music, so no point in linking) and it’s taking a lot of time! This past week, for example, it took me to Phoenix, Arizona for three days (that’s the picture above, a snapshot from where I was working that day). Anyway, not interesting beyond noting it will continue to impact my time for the foreseeable future. If you’d like to mitigate how much time I have to spend on non music related pursuits so I can focus on making and writing about music, consider buying some music at Bandcamp or Ampwall, or donate to the website/writing efforts directly via Ko-Fi.
