Looky here, it’s my first Jamuary 2026 result!
The prompt was “treapped in a labyrinth” and I ended up with a cool three-part, 7.5 minute track. The video above is part 1 (full title is “Trapped in a Labyrinth Part 1: I Sure Hope That’s Not a Minotaur”). The other two parts are currently unavailable — we’ll see if I release them at some point.
This was an exercise in limited sequencing — the “labyrinth” is an 8-note sequence on the 0-CTRL, played on the 0-Coast and set against a (sorta) constant pitch drone thing from Strega. Notes drop out, the path gets retraced, false steps appear in puddles of delay like funhouse mirrors, but ultimately, there’s no escape from the relentless basic sequence/labyrinth.
0-Coast into Strega into Lexicon Vortex. Patch cords as seen above. Vortex and Easel (i.e. combo of 0-Coast/0-CTRL/Strega) under realtime human control. Recorded into Ableton. Compresion, EQ and a simple mastering pass added.
