Filter sweeps (and the extended class of timbral sweeps) are one of my favorite types of sounds. From classic transition effects and classic sci-fi sound FX to dynamic drones and evolving pads, sweeps are super versatile and found all over the music you love. This week, I decided to dive into the hows and whys of sweeps. I barely scratched the surface, but hopefully it is a good intro to the topic.
